How do I travel to Edmonton?
You can fly directly to Edmonton. To travel from
the airport to downtown Edmonton and/or NorQuest College, you have
several options (prices are subject to change):
- You may take a shuttle bus for CDN $15
(located on the lower level next to the information booth)
- You may take a taxi for approximately
CDN $50
- You may request airport pick-up with
your homestay option for CDN $80

Applications and Visas

How do I apply to a program at NorQuest?
Visit the How to Apply

What happens after I submit my application form and fees?
Before your official Letter of Admission can be issued, you must complete the program application form, pay the non-refundable $100 CDN application fee, and meet all program requirements (academic and non-academic). We advise applicants by mail of their acceptance.
To accept NorQuest College’s official Letter of Admission and reserve your seat in a program, send a $500 CDN non-refundable, non-transferable tuition deposit (applied to your first term’s tuition) to NorQuest College. Methods of payment include: credit card (Visa or MasterCard), certified cheque, bank draft, money order, or wire transfer (for details regarding this option, please email international@norquest.ca).

Do I have to apply for an international student visa or study permit?
If the length of your program is less than six
months, you do not have to apply for an international Student Visa
or Study Permit. If the program you choose is longer than six months,
you will be required to apply. To learn more, contact the Canadian
Embassy or Consulate in your home country or visit the Citizenship
and Immigration Canada website. If you intend to study in consecutive
programs, it is strongly recommended that you apply for a Student
Visa or Study Permit before entering Canada.

4. Can I apply for my
relative who is out of the country, and will I get a letter for
immigration?
Yes, you can apply for a relative and get an Official Letter for Immigration as long as your relative has met the program requirements and you have completed the International Applicant Authorization for Release of Information.

5.
What if I (or my relative, if they apply for me) cannot get a Visa,
do I get my money back?
Please note that once you have paid the deposit of $500 CDN it is not refunded or transferred even if your visa is denied or delayed, or if you decide not to attend NorQuest. You should pay this deposit ONLY when you know that you have your study visa secured.

Programs and Classes

What are the entrance requirements for NorQuest College programs?
You must be 18 years of age or older. You must
have Canadian medical and/or health insurance. Different programs
have different entrance requirements. For more information, please

When studying in English as a Second Language (ESL) programs, which
classes will I attend, and what level will I study at?
There are nine levels for the ESL Intensive and
Academic programs. You will be assessed and placed at a suitable

What countries do the students typically come from?
Students at NorQuest come from 125 different countries
in the world! We have students from countries in Asia, Europe, the
Middle East, South America, and Latin America.

Will I need health or medical insurance?
Health Insurance must be purchased by students who plan to stay in Canada for less than one year. You can purchase insurance once you arrive in Canada.
Alberta Health Care Insurance is available to students at no cost if residing in Alberta for 12 months or more.
